Having recently attended the latest FETC, I’ve renamed the 2014 version Fantastic Excitement, Teacher Commitment. The reasons are simple, and simply wonderful. This was my eighth time at FETC. And this was the most exciting show with the most enthusiastic people I’ve met there in years.
One of the great things about working for a company that sells products in foreign countries is you sometimes get to see first-hand how other cultures’ educators are innovating in classrooms. That was my experience a couple of weeks ago when I went to London to meet with some of our foreign distributors at the Bett 2014 educational tradeshow.
At Fremont County School District 6 in Pavillion, Wyo., the diverse population, including a large number of Native American students, poses occasional communication challenges. “Some of these students have cultural and language barriers,” says Diana Clapp, superintendent. “Instructionally, that presents issues in delivering the best education possible to each student.”
eSchool News recently published their review of one of Lightspeed’s newest innovations in classroom audio. This portable audio system, called Flexcat , can facilitate instruction in small group settings. The system consists of a teacher headset with microphone and tabletop speakers for student groups placed throughout the classroom.
Logging on this morning I realized I haven’t posted since November! The obvious reason for that would be because I was on the road for 3 of the 4 weeks in December. Once I spent some time at home base it was back to hitting the streets for FETC and TCEA. Despite being state shows they are some of the largest we participate in for the year.
