Schools that use wireless microphones operating in the 700 megahertz (MHz) frequency band have until
June 12th 2009 to change the radio frequency of their affected product or buy new equipment, according to a January 15th ruling by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC’s decision is part of a larger government effort to clear the 700 MHz band for use by cell phones, digital TV transmissions and emergency communications.
Some Lightspeed customers who have purchased a Delta X Series transportable public address (PA) system may need to switch out their transmitters and receivers to comply with the new ruling.
This ruling
DOES NOT affect customers using Lighstpeed's classroom audio systems that use infrared (iR) or VHF FM as a wireless transmission method. These systems include Lightspeed's LES-100, LES-300, LES-400, LES-500, LES-600, LES-700 and CAT 800 Series products.
