Classroom audio creates high definition sound. It’s not about volume but clarity—crystal clear instruction that every student can hear. Lightspeed classroom audio systems were designed specifically to address the barriers inside the classroom that inhibit the intelligibility of instruction from teachers as well as the interaction between peers.

Classroom audio also creates a more productive and meaningful learning environment. Teachers can teach in a nurturing, conversational tone that is more receptive to students influencing their levels of participation, engagement and overall quality of work.

What are the elements of a classroom audio system?

A typical wireless classroom audio enhancement system consists of four primary components:
  • Wireless Microphone
  • Infrared Receiver
  • Audio Amplifier
  • Speakers

Wireless Microphones
The wireless microphone is the most important piece of a classroom audio system. Our lightweight REDMIKE is a pendant style microphone worn comfortably around the teacher's neck allowing for hands free teaching.  The microphone picks up the teachers voice and transmits the signal to the infrared receiver in the classroom.

Integrated Sensor Receiver
Infrared Receiver
The infrared sensor receiver simply detects the signal from the microphone and converts it into an audio signal that is then sent to the amplifier.

Audio Amplifier
The audio amplifier processes the audio signals from the infrared receiver and provides output to the speaker or speakers installed in the classroom.  Our latest programmable amplifier utilizes the RS-232 standard for remote volume control by your favorite classroom A/V control system.

TCQ Hybrid Ceiling Speaker
Speakers
The last component is the speakers.  Depending on the speaker technology you choose, even sound distribution is accomplished with advanced flat-panel hybrid speaker technology pioneered by Lightspeed or multiple standard cone speaker mounted on the ceiling or walls.
