  • The REDCAT offered something that other companies haven't been able to - an all-in-one system - with only one speaker that fills the room with equal sound. It is a high quality product and makes great fiscal sense! From the beginning (the) equipment far exceeded my expectations.

Schools that use wireless microphones operating in the 700 megahertz (MHz) frequency band have until June 12th 2009 to change the radio frequency of their affected product or buy new equipment, according to a January 15th ruling by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC’s decision is part of a larger government effort to clear the 700 MHz band for use by cell phones, digital TV transmissions and emergency communications.

Some Lightspeed customers who have purchased a Delta X Series transportable public address (PA) system may need to switch out their transmitters and receivers to comply with the new ruling.

This ruling DOES NOT affect customers using Lighstpeed's classroom audio systems that use infrared (iR) or VHF FM as a wireless transmission method.  These systems include Lightspeed's LES-100, LES-300, LES-400, LES-500, LES-600, LES-700 and CAT 800 Series products.

Lightspeed is committed to providing the best possible service to our customers. If you have a Delta X Series transportable PA system with a transmitter/receiver in the 700Mhz range, please review the following options:
  1. Lightspeed will replace any transmitters/receivers operating in the 700MHz band that are in warranty, free of charge.
  2. For product out of warranty, Lightspeed offers refurbished transmitters/receivers at a 20% discount, limited to quantities on hand.
